222 UVC Australia was founded by Rod Hendricks in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Rod has has a long histroy in industrial hygiene and solving complex problems relating the air contamination. He has also, over many decades, introduced and developed cutting edge techologies. These covered a range of areas from air pollution abatement to advanced energy systems. This was enabled by his expertise in mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry, industrial design and decades of experience helping solve critical challenges.

In the early days of the pandemic, Rod developed nine UV-C based disinfection products using conventional 254nm UV-C emitters. However, Covid-19 needed solutions better than conventional technologies. This is when he turned to 222nm UV-C and the leading European manufactured of 222nm UV-C lights, UV Medico A/S.
